Solar PV System Installation – Southend-on-Sea, Essex

L & K Estates Portfolio Ltd, a small Essex based developer had purchased the property to convert into a 7 bedroom HMO. Forming part of the planning consent, a 4kW solar PV system was required. This was achieved by installing 10 solar panels together with 6.6 kW of battery storage. The equipment was fitted within a section of  boarded out loft space to ensure safe access. A mains smoke alarm was also fitted to comply with current building regulations.

This project was delivered within a week and we even cleared the badly clogged gutters and gulleys while we were there. The installation will help the client reduce their electricity bill with energy generated from their solar panels. In addition, the move to the Octopus Outgoing tariff means that they can charge their battery storage overnight for around 30% of the standard rate (and receive great rates when sending surplus electricity back to the grid!).

Predicted Energy Savings: over the system’s lifetime, it is predicted that the energy saving will be equivalent to:

  • 23,732 km by car
  • 153 trees planted
  • 17 long haul flights
  • A saving of 816 kg of CO2 per year

Client Feedback:

We worked with Ben & Rudy at EazEcoEnergy for one of our recent investment projects. They installed a 4.3kw solar panel system, with 10 panels and a smart meter for recording power consumption. The hybrid system they installed allows for storage of any excess energy, with the option to sell surplus energy back to the grid. The team were efficient, extremely communicative and most importantly, very understanding of the fact we had tenants in situ whilst they were working and ensured minimal disruption throughout the installation process. Their aftercare service has been great and we will definitely be using them again for future projects.”

4 Panel Solar PV Installation – Thorpe Bay, Essex

Our clients Alyssa and Sean were self-building their dream home a stone’s throw from the beach in Thorpe Bay, Essex.

The design SAP assessment for the project called for a smaller 1.5 kW solar PV system, which was achieved with just 4 solar panels. With a keen eye for design, it was important to Alyssa and Sean that the panels were not visible.  We were able to achieve this by installing them on the flat, crown roof using a sleek Van Der Valk ballast mounting system. This meant that no fixings through the roof membrane were required.

The installation was completed within a day and just in time to enjoy the beautiful sunset over the Thames Estuary…

Predicted Energy Savings: over the system’s lifetime, it is predicted that the energy saving will be equivalent to:

  • 9,050 km avoided by car
  • 58 trees planted
  • 6 long haul flights
  • A saving of 307 kg of CO2 per year

Solar Panel Installation Project – Westcliff-on-Sea, Essex

Our clients for this project were Sean Thomas Construction Ltd, an Essex based company who were appointed as main contractor on the conversion of a former residential care home into 13 holiday lets overlooking the Thames Estuary at Westcliff on Sea.

The project included extensive extensions to the roof including new roof finishes throughout. We worked closely with the site management team to co-ordinate with the roofers, scaffolders, electricians and other fit-out trades to help achieve their tight programme.

Due to the number of properties and predicted energy consumption a minimal surplus would be expected, therefore the client did not include battery storage in this installation.

Predicted Energy Savings: over the system’s lifetime, it is predicted that the energy saving will be equivalent to:

  • 25,174 km avoided by car
  • 162 trees planted
  • 18 long haul flights
  • A saving of 866 kg of CO2 per year
