Helping a Young Family Reduce Rising Energy Costs

EazEco Energy was chosen to design and install a bespoke solar PV and battery storage system for a young professional family in Ipswich, Suffolk.

The family wanted to reduce their monthly household expenses while making a long-term investment in cleaner, more sustainable energy. Rising electricity prices, increased home working, modern appliances and future plans for electric vehicle charging were all placing greater demands on the property’s energy use.

Following a detailed consultation and assessment of the home, EazEco Energy designed a system that made effective use of the available roof space while aiming to deliver strong long-term savings.

A Solar System Designed Around the Home

The completed installation included 14 high-efficiency solar panels, creating a 6.02kW solar PV system.

A 5.2kWh Fox ESS battery storage system was installed alongside a Fox hybrid inverter. This allows surplus solar electricity generated during the day to be stored and used later, particularly during the evening when household demand is often at its highest.

Smart monitoring was also included through the Fox ESS mobile app, giving the family a clear view of the electricity being generated, stored and used throughout the day.

The installation was completed in line with MCS requirements and included the necessary Distribution Network Operator notification, commissioning and manufacturer-backed warranties.

Lower Bills and Greater Energy Independence

By generating and storing more of their own electricity, the family can reduce the amount of energy they need to purchase from the National Grid.

The system is expected to lower monthly electricity bills, provide greater protection against future price increases and reduce the household’s overall carbon footprint.

Any surplus electricity that is not used or stored may also be exported back to the grid through the Smart Export Guarantee, creating the potential for an additional financial return.

The installation may also support improved energy efficiency and make the property more attractive to future buyers.

Designed Around Family Life

As a busy working family, the customer wanted a renewable energy system that would be straightforward to manage and require minimal maintenance.

The system was designed around both daytime and evening energy usage. Electricity generated while family members are working from home can be used immediately, while excess energy can be stored for use after sunset.

Through the monitoring app, the family can track solar generation, battery performance and household consumption in real time. This gives them greater control over how and when energy is used.

The system has also been designed with the future in mind, including the family’s plans to add electric vehicle charging.

A Bespoke Installation

Every home uses energy differently, so EazEco Energy designed the system around the family’s current electricity consumption, daily routine and future requirements.

The project was managed from the initial consultation and design stage through to installation, commissioning and certification.

All work was carefully planned to minimise disruption, allowing the family to continue with their normal routine while the new system was installed.

The Outcome

The family in Ipswich now benefits from lower energy costs, greater energy independence and a home that is better prepared for future electricity demands.

Their investment in solar PV and Fox ESS battery storage provides long-term financial benefits while supporting a cleaner and more sustainable way of living.

By spending less on imported electricity, the family can keep more of its household budget for the things that matter most.
