Adding Long-Term Value Through Renewable Energy

EazEco Energy partnered with a property developer to design and install a high-performance renewable energy system for a premium new-build home in Great Waldingfield, Suffolk.

The developer wanted to create an energy-efficient property that would appeal to modern buyers, reduce future running costs and meet the growing demand for more sustainable homes.

By incorporating solar PV and battery storage during the construction stage, the renewable technology could be integrated into the property from the outset. This resulted in a cleaner finish and helped ensure the system complemented the overall design of the home.

A Renewable Energy System Designed for the Property

The completed installation included 16 high-efficiency solar panels, creating an 8.0kW solar PV system.

A 10.4kWh Fox ESS battery storage system was installed alongside a Fox hybrid inverter. The battery stores surplus solar electricity generated during the day, allowing the future homeowner to use more of this energy during the evening and at times of higher demand.

Smart energy monitoring was also included through a mobile app, providing a clear view of solar generation, battery performance and household electricity consumption.

The installation was completed in line with MCS requirements and included the necessary Distribution Network Operator application, commissioning and manufacturer-backed warranties.

Including renewable energy technology helped the new-build property stand out within a competitive housing market.

The solar PV and battery system improved the home’s energy efficiency and created the potential for a stronger Energy Performance Certificate rating. It also added genuine value to the property by offering future buyers lower running costs from the day they moved in.

The monitoring app gives the homeowner greater control over their energy usage by showing how much electricity is being generated, stored and consumed in real time.

The project was managed from the initial system design and network application through to installation, commissioning and certification.

Completing the work during the construction phase allowed the solar panels, battery and electrical equipment to be installed efficiently, with minimal impact on the wider building project.
